When should I inspect and service my personne transfer basket?

The frequency of inspection and servicing depends on the number of transfer lifts performed per year. Each loaded transfer to or from counts as one transfer.

  • If any doubt exists regarding the usage range, then the maintenance strategy should revert to a higher usage category.
  • If the unit sustained heavy impacts or overloads, the maintenance strategy should revert to a higher usage category.

Remember:

  • The recommended frequency of inspection and servicing for each type of basket is listed in the Recommended I&M Schedule in your User Manual.
  • Check your applicable country legislation to make sure you adhere. The recommendations in the I&M Schedule apply to Reflex Marine products and do not replace or alter the inspection intervals as prescribed by the relevant legislation in your country.
  • Always carry out all inspection and maintenance on schedule and allow sufficient time for parts to arrive in time for your scheduled maintenance.

Who can inspect or service the basket?

Inspections should be performed by a Competent Person:

Reflex Marine recommends that the Competent Person involved in inspection of their personnel transfer baskets is a person with appropriate practical and theoretical knowledge of the products. This shall enable them to detect defects and weaknesses and to assess their importance in relation to the safety and continued use of the equipment. The Competent Person must be sufficiently independent and impartial to allow objective decisions to be made.

Servicing can be performed by your crew when appropriately trained or through a Reflex Marine Approved Service Centre.
