Marine Transfer Workgroup Established By Step Change In Safety

Reflex Marine FROGs are used by operators globally both for routine and contingency transfers

The UK-based partnership, Step Change in Safety have established a Marine Transfer Workgroup in order to 'focus on the safe transfer of personnel offshore by means other than helicopter'.

The recent string of suspensions of Aberdeen-based helicopters have significantly impacted on the logistics of getting people both on and offshore. Step Change have identified Reflex Marine's FROG as an alternative method to transfer workers when helicopters are unavailable. This forms parts of their remit to 'make the UK the safest Oil and Gas Exploration and Production province in the world'.

The working group has collated existing guidance and information including Reflex Marine's '10 Golden Rules of Crane Transfer Operations' to help companies safely plan transfers.

Reflex Marine's crane transfer devices are used globally by operators for both the routine transfer of crews but also as a contingency for when helicopters cant fly such as for inter-field transfers, for low volume crew changes or if emergency down manning needs to be carried out.

We have recently launched a brand new, cutting edge range of transfer devices: the FROG-XT range, which is a culmination of 20 years of experience in marine personnel transfer. These devices have been designed for the most extreme scenarios, tested to the limit and verified in full, take crane transfer solutions to a new level.
