We are very excited to have been nominated for two awards at the upcoming Cornwall Business Awards; highly regarded as the most prestigious awards in Cornwall and a celebration of both innovation and achievement.
Reflex Marine have been shortlisted in the top three for both Employer of the Year Award and Best International Business. The Cornwall Business Awards is organised and presented by the Cornwall Development Company in association with Business Cornwall and the Cornwall Chamber. The event takes place on the 15th May at St Mellion International Resort where the winners will be announced.
Having come runners up two years in a row, Reflex Marine is hoping for a 'third time lucky' win with an application that let employees speak on behalf of the company on why they believe Reflex Marine should win Employer of the Year. The work Reflex Marine has invested its people development strategies in recent years has really been paying off and the company is experiencing unparalleled growth, achieving a 52% increase in revenue in the last financial year. After achieving the Investors in People Silver Award in 2011, the company is currently working towards the reputed Gold standard.
This is the first year Reflex Marine has entered the Best International Business category and feels there are many exciting stories to tell. 84% of Reflex Marine's business is made up from exports with the company on the verge of breaking into several new markets. Recent developments include opening an office in Houston and developing relationships with the NASA facility where our products can be tested and where we can hold open days for clients. There have also been exciting developments in Mexico where we were invited to test our products in front of the governments' certifying authority, CNCP who approved the FROG-6 for sale in the region. Reflex Marine has also recently been granted certification by the Brazilian Navy who are the accredited body for offshore safety in the region. Reflex Marine is the first EU company to gain this homologation which will mean that the national oil operator for Brazil, Petrobras will be able to use our products for their offshore operations.
