Reflex Marine Named Winner Of Winners At The Cornwall Business Awards

The Reflex Marine team claim their trophy for the Winner of Winners Award

Reflex Marine came away with three awards at the ninth Cornwall Business Awards including the prestigious Winner Of Winners Award. We beat off some tough competition to receive Gold in both of the categories we entered; Employer of the Year and Best International Business.

The awards ceremony was held at the St Mellion International Resort with over 350 leading members of the county's business community attending. The judging panel included business experts such as John Smith, the chief operating officer of Burberry as well as representatives of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership, Plymouth University, Falmouth University and UKTI . Gerald Ratner was key note speaker at the awards dinner.

After having been awarded Silver for Employer of the Year, two years running, we were extremely excited to receive Gold which is an important milestone in our journey to achieving the Gold Investors in People standard. Our nomination this year was written by our employees, who we feel, at the end of the day, are the only ones qualified to say whether Reflex Marine deserves to win the award.

Suzanne Bond, Chief Executive of Cornwall Development Company said:

"Reflex Marine is an international business with a product synonymous with Cornwall’s well established marine credentials, and has demonstrated commercial success and a great export record.  It is also leading the way as a responsible, values based business that is innovating in the broadest sense of the word and thinking beyond the curve."

Kim Conchie, Chief Executive of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce presented the Winner of Winners award to Reflex Marine (picture below with Reflex Marine's Marketing Coordinator, Katy Austin) and commented:

Reflex Marine demonstrated commercial success, innovation and a great export record -together with a high degree of local collaboration in a sector that is building a global reputation for Cornwall. For the judges, this was a winning combination.”
