NASA Houston To Demonstrate Reflex Marine’s New FROG-XT4

The FROG-9 being immersed in the NASA testing pool with the attendees enjoying a refreshing dip.

Reflex Marine’s newly launched FROG-XT4 Crane Transfer Device, will be demonstrated at the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL), NASA Testing Facility in Houston on the 12th of May 2014.

Attendees will see the FROG-XT4 being put through its paces in a series of demonstrations including immersion testing, self-righting testing, conversion to MedEvac mode, real time lifts followed by a presentation and lunch.

The development of the FROG-XT range has been a direct response to customer demands developed with over 20 years of experience, over 800 transfer devices operating globally, and with an estimated 1 million safe transfers performed using our capsules every year.

Improvements to every aspect of capsule design have resulted in greater comfort and safety to passengers, wider operating parameters and higher capacity transfers.

“Many of the design changes make the FROG-XT4 even more applicable to the US market. The new saddle seats enable passengers to adopt a semi-seated position. This feels like a brace position on a stand up basket which is something we believe US crews will be more comfortable with. Increased capacity coupled with greater average passenger weight provides operators with increased flexibility. The new stretcher mounting system makes the device capable of being deployed quickly in medical evacuation situations (MedEvac), a crucial feature in emergency scenarios. The smaller footprint and more compact design make the unit easy to store and more cost effective to ship. Inspection and maintenance procedures have also been simplified”.

Sales Manager, Grant Wintle.

After successful testing of the FROG-6 & 9 at the Houston facility last year, Reflex Marine is really excited to further develop a strong relationship with NASA. NASA provides the perfect setting to show off all of the features and benefits of Reflex Marine’s crane transfer devices. The testing pool allows the self-righting and floating capabilities of the device to be verified and vertical impact demonstrations will highlight how the device mitigates risk.

Reflex Marine Sales Manager, Grant Wintle, will be delivering a presentation at the event with a focus on the improvements that have been made to the safety, performance and ownership experience of the new FROG-XT range. He will also share Reflex Marine’s expertise and experience on the associated risks relating to crane transfer risk including where incidents happen and the root causes.
