Reflex Marine was invited to participate in the UK Energy in Brazil 2016 event held in Rio de Janeiro earlier this month. The week-long event is organised by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and is held to promote the exchange of knowledge between the UK and Brazil in the Energy sector.
The annual event also offers a platform for new technologies to be presented and facilitates discussions on the latest innovations and challenges for the energy sector. Ahead of the UK Energy in Brazil Showcase representatives of British companies, such as Reflex Marine, were given an overview of the current economic, political and social position of Brazil and the challenges ahead. We heard from EY, ONIP (Brazilian Oil and Gas Association) and Petrolink.

Throughout the week, representatives of the British and Brazilian companies met with companies such as Shell Brazil, Statoil, Total, SBM and Brasa Shipyard. We also travelled to Santos to meet with Petrobras UO-BS for a workshop to discuss their current operations in the Santos Basin.
This gave us the opportunity to further understand our clients’ needs and explore how British companies can best serve companies such as Petrobras, to help improve efficiency and support operations.
Reflex Marine will continue to develop and maintain close relationships with companies operating in Brazil and identify opportunities to support new and existing clients. With the resources and opportunities now available, joint ventures with international companies will be key to improving and increasing oil and gas productivity in the country.
